After-Hours Emergency Vets In Onalaska
Emergency Telehealth Service
For emergency services after-hours and on weekends, we have partnered with VetTriage to offer video telehealth services. For a small fee, a licensed VetTriage veterinarian will assess your pet on a live video chat to determine if your pet requires immediate emergency care, or simple monitoring at home until our clinic opens.
Pet Poison Helpline

Did your pet just eat something poisonous? Call the Pet Poison Helpline immediately. The Pet Poison help lines works with your veterinarian to determine whether your pet can be monitored at home or must be seen by a veterinarian immediately.
A credentialed veterinary professional receives your concern, evaluates the poisoning, and then will determine if your pet needs further medical attention. A $59 incident fee may apply.
What is an Emergency Veterinary Service?
It is considered emergency veterinary services when the pet's life is in critical condition. Examples of emergency veterinary issues would be an obstructed airway, unresponsiveness, convulsions, and many other possibilities. If you are not sure, the best thing to do is call us ASAP at (608) 668-6777 so we can either clarify or get you and your pet in right away.
After-Hours Emergency Vet Appointments
If your pet is experiencing an emergency outside our regular business hours, we offer VetTriage. With VetTriage, you can see a veterinarian in moments without leaving your home. Follow the VetTriage "Connect Now" link above, and we’ll connect you with a veterinarian who will assess your pet’s situation by video and determine whether your pet needs to be seen before Onalaska Animal Hospital reopens. If your pet needs to be seen, the veterinarian will connect you with an area emergency center. Otherwise, they’ll give you instructions to keep your pet comfortable until we can see you.
What if it's Not an Emergency?
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our staff will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our team will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
