Onalaska Animal Hospital provides veterinary emergency care during regular office hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please call 608-668-6777 before arrival so our team can assess availability and determine whether we are able to accommodate your pet’s emergency.

When our clinic is closed, simply call our main number to be connected with a licensed veterinarian who can provide immediate guidance and peace of mind. They’ll assess your pet’s situation, help you determine if emergency care is needed right away, or let you know if it’s safe to wait until we reopen—so you can make the best decision for your pet, anytime.

Did your pet just eat something poisonous? Call the Pet Poison Helpline immediately. The Pet Poison help lines works with your veterinarian to determine whether your pet can be monitored at home or must be seen by a veterinarian immediately.
A credentialed veterinary professional receives your concern, evaluates the poisoning, and then will determine if your pet needs further medical attention. A $89 incident fee may apply.
What is an Emergency Veterinary Service?
It is considered emergency veterinary services when the pet's life is in critical condition. Examples of emergency veterinary issues would be an obstructed airway, unresponsiveness, convulsions, and many other possibilities. If you are not sure, the best thing to do is call us ASAP at (608) 668-6777 so we can either clarify or get you and your pet in right away.
What if it's Not an Emergency?
We are also available for emergency care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our staff will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our team will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
