We also offer the opportunity to help grow and shape our Urgent Care service, currently offered Monday and Thursday evenings. It’s an excellent fit for someone who enjoys variety and wants to contribute to the development of an expanding service within a well-supported practice.
Schedule and Work-Life Balance
We’ve also built a schedule that protects your life outside of work. Our hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- No weekends, no holidays, and no traditional on-call responsibilities.
- Urgent Care shifts are offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
- Flexible four-day workweek option available.
- After-hours needs are supported through a teletriage service, so when you’re off, you’re truly off.

Our state-of-the-art 5,000 sq. ft. hospital is equipped to support confident, efficient, high-level medicine.
You’ll have access to:
- Butterfly ultrasound with virtual guided support
- CardioPet ECG Companion laser therapy and Aesculight surgical laser
- Digital dental radiography
- Antech RapidRead and Zoetis Imagyst for in-clinic diagnostics
We maintain a strong commitment to patient safety and anesthetic quality, with blood pressure, ETCO, and SpO monitoring as minimum standards during anesthesia.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive Pro-Sal starting at $110,000 to $120,000 per year, plus a sign-on bonus.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Full-Time or Part-Time | In Person
Onalaska Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our newly built, 5,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. At OAH, we’ve created a culture that values work-life balance, professional growth, and each individual’s strengths.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
- Escort clients and patients; obtain accurate medical histories
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and procedures
- Safely restrain animals for diagnostics and treatments
- Take and process radiographs (as trained)
- Fill prescriptions and prepare medications under supervision
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain exam and treatment areas
- Stock supplies and manage inventory levels
- Educate clients on preventative care and discharge instructions
- Document patient records and client communication accurately
- Support efficient workflow and a low-stress environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous veterinary or animal care experience (preferred, not required)
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Excellent communication and client interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, calm, and patient demeanor
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn veterinary systems
- Ability to lift/restrain animals (50+ lbs with assistance)
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Willingness to learn and grow
