Come to OAH during urgent care hours if your pet has:
- Vomited or had diarrhea more than twice in a day
- A limp or is reluctant to put weight on a leg
- Sudden lethargy or a noticeable change in behavior
- A wound, cut, or animal bite that needs evaluation
- A swollen face or localized swelling
- A possible ear infection or eye irritation
- A skin reaction, hot spot, or signs of an allergic response
- Coughing or sneezing with nasal or eye discharge
- Ingested something questionable in a small, non-toxic quantity
Go directly to an emergency hospital if your pet is:
- Not breathing, choking, or gasping for air
- Unconscious or not responding to you
- Having a seizure or uncontrolled convulsions
- Suspected of ingesting a toxin or poison
- Severely bleeding and it will not stop
- Involved in a serious accident, hit by a vehicle, or fallen from a height
- Unable to move a limb or showing signs of obvious broken bones
- Showing a hard, bloated, or distended abdomen (especially large dogs)
- A male cat straining to urinate with no output
- In extreme pain: crying out, rigid, unable to settle
- Showing pale, white, blue, or grey gums
